Karen Allen

Karen Allen began knitting as a child. She studied design at the Fashion Institute of Technology at age 17 and returned there in 2002 to study machine-knitting technology. She founded Monterey Fiber Arts, a textile and knitwear design company in the Berkshires, and opened Karen Allen Fiber Arts, a knitwear store in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, in June of 2005. She also founded and ran Berkshire Mountain Yoga and taught Ashtanga Yoga from 1995 to 2000.
