The Kripalu Center is located in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts, a popular year-round getaway for outdoor activity and cultural events. There are many opportunities for outdoor activity in the Berkshires, including hiking, biking, swimming, horseback riding, and skiing. Kripalu Center sits on a hilltop, with beautiful views of 300 acres of woodlands, hills, valleys, and a mountain lake.
Kripalu is adjacent to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Other cultural destinations include Jacob’s Pillow Dance Center, Shakespeare & Company, the Clark Art Institute, and MassMoca (the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art). For concerts and other events, many students travel to the five colleges of the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts (UMass, Amherst, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and Hampshire), just over an hour away, 45 minutes north to Williams College, or 20 minutes south to Simon’s Rock College of Bard.
We know that it can be hard to imagine life at Kripalu and the Semester Intensive without seeing for yourself. We welcome you to come check us out! We would love to meet you, answer your questions in person, and acquaint you with Kripalu and the Semester Intensive living-learning facility. Please contact us to schedule a visit and tour.
